Bangkok, Thailand

Bangkok is the capital and the most populous city of Thailand. We found this city very noisy, dirty and super hot. If you are going to Thailand be ready to sweat like crazy, and make sure to take a hostel with an air conditioner and not a fan like we did, or you will be as a boiled egg in the morning 🙂
We spent just 2 days days in Bangkok, it was enough to discover couple of temples, parks and the spirit of the city. We also needed some time to adapt to jet-lag and local climate.

The first night we climbed the Vertigo Tower to see Bangkok by night. There’s a bar and a restaurant there, but we didn’t stay because prices there are equal to a fancy bar in Paris. We also didn’t like the atmosphere, too posh for us, they even have a dress code! Wout was asked to wear long pants and closed shoes, they were less strict with me. But yes, who is more beautiful in our couple? 😉

We also took a tuk-tuk taxi, a motorized 3-wheeled rickshaw. It is a common form of urban transport, mostly used by tourists nowadays. We had it on our bucket list in Asia. We did it in Bangkok, but I would prefer to do it in any other city with less traffic. A Tuk-tuk is not the safest mode of transport and you breathe all the exhaust fumes from other cars.

We didn’t visit a lot of tourist attractions but we walked a lot to get used to the traffic, local money, food, language and their habits.

In the end, we decided to test our raincoats and showered under the tropical rain.
