Wat Chalermprakiat, Thailand
We had just decided to stay a bit longer in Chiang Mai for the festival, when Nastya (Alena’s friend) sent us a video of Wat Chalermprakiat. We instantly knew we had to go there.
Wat Chalermprakiat is not very known (yet) with international tourists, maybe mostly due to it’s location. It’s about 2,5 hours driving by car from Chiang Mai. It’s closer to Lampang, but not many tourists visit that city.
We passed a small town called Ban Mae Chaem where they make coffee.

Nicknamed the “floating temples”, construction started only in 2004, so it’s a relatively new place.
When you arrive to the bottom, you need to book a ride on a pickup truck to take you halfway there, and the last part you have to do yourself.

This was an absolute highlight of Thailand for us. The view was incredible from the top, and we spent quite some time completely alone there.
It was also an excellent occasion to fly the drone 🙂
