Phu Chi Fa, Thailand
After Chiang Rai we took a minibus to Phu Chi Fa. This place is known for a gigantic cliff on the border overlooking Laos.
It’s an ideal place to watch the sunrise, and the entire town is built for tourists doing exactly that, with guesthouses and taxi’s ready to take you in the morning.

We got up at 4:00 after a cold night and took a pickup truck to the start of the hike. We were one of the first to arrive there, but were soon accompanied by hundreds of other tourists.

It was quite a cloudy morning, so the sun was blocked, but it was very beautiful.

For the sunrise we were standing on top of the cliff, so we decided to move down for a side view. After a while, some “god rays” started breaking through the clouds.
